Croton Point Park is a 508-acre park situated on a peninsula in Westchester County in the village of Croton-on-Hudson on the east shore of the Hudson River. This park offers year-round events and activities and has facilities for camping, hiking and swimming. This past weekend I went camping with ten other people from work, I work at REI by the way, it was my first time to this spot which was only 45 minutes from my house & it was really beautiful. We had a spacious campsite that was able to accommodate all of us without feeling cramped & we were surrounded by the Hudson on both sides of us which was only a quick walk away. One trail led right down to a shore line & we were able to watch the sunset. Once it got dark we all hangout around a bonfire, drank, grilled food, had good conversations, & took a few more walks down to the water with headlamps. I love camping & would so much rather spend my weekend doing something like this than going out to a bar. Being surrounded by nature bring we such peace. One of my friends said they measure their years by how many nights they spend in a tent, I like this a lot & am going to start a tally of how many nights this year I sleep in a tent under the stars. I'm headed up to Vermont tomorrow to visit Jon & we're going camping up there as well for two nights. I'm very excited to see him & have a mini vacation...I promise to take lots of pictures :) Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend as well.
*P.S. Country Living Fair post to come soon.
