south carolina - usc family weekend

My little sister is a freshman at the University of South Carolina & this past weekend was family weekend so we all ventured down, dog & all, to spend the weekend with her & explore the school. It was a great trip.

Driving down...12 hours total :0

The University of South Carolina has such a lovely campus.

My sister & I went to the Soda City Market on Saturday it was great so many wonderful vendors.

This stuff was delicious! We tried the Grapefruit Elderflower & Honey Basil (which we ended up getting a glass of). They don't ship yet, but hopefully they will soon...if you're in the are definitely check them out.

We also got a pup-sickle at the market for the pup, it was adorable :)

Exploring

On Saturday we also went to Sesquicentennial State Park & rented a canoe for a hour. It was a beautiful day & very peaceful to row around the lake with my brother & sister.

The romper I'm wearing is from Free People, I got it years ago.

So beautiful, it felt very south.

Driving home.
There are some many lovely patches of wildflowers along the roads in the south & I am a big fan.

We stopped 8 hours in to the journey home to drop my brother off in Maryland (he is a senior at UMD) & my mom & I decide to grab a bite to eat an fuel up for the remaining journey home at Busboys & Poets. This place was amazing! You can read all about them here, but to give you an idea this is not only a restaurant, but also a lounge, bar, bookstore, & theater. The way they decorated is awesome, there is art all over the place. Also another bug plus, especially for me, is that they source food locally, have organic items, & grass fed meat. We split a soup & both got salads which were delicious. I am looking forward to going back.
