Although we spent the majority of our trip in Carmel we did fly in & out of San Francisco, so we decided to spend part of our last day exploring a little of the city. We drove up the coast along highway 1, which was very beautiful, & for some reason we were all craving burgers. First we stopped at In & Out for my dad & brother, & then we took the Bart into the city to the Embarcadaro stop which drops you along the eastern waterfront of San Francisco & in sight of one of my favorite places in the city,
The Ferry Building Marketplace. This place is incredible...it's filled with so many lovely things & amazing food options everywhere you look. Below are pictures from our time spent here.
My sister & I got our burger fix at
American Eatery with a delicious organic grass-fed burger...much better than In & Out in our opinion, the quality difference is hard to deny.
Inside the Ferry Building Marketplace, this place makes me happy :)
I got Jon a jar of
truffle salt from here as a present...he is obsessed.
A lot of sampling everywhere you look, which is awesome & filling.
Beautiful things everywhere too, there was so much I would love to have & fill a home with.

I fell in love with this place & have decided that I want my future home to be filled with a set of their eatery.
The line was too long to get a cup of coffee this day, but I discovered a cafe that was an extension of the company at the airport & got a cup of fresh dripped coffee before our flight took off early the following morning. It was delicious.
The line was also too long here, but there organic soft serve looked soo good....next time :)
Stunning views from outside the ferry building of the new
Bay Bridge.
After we took the Bart back to our car we checked into our hotel for the night & met some old friends from the area for dinner. p.s. I highly recommend getting dungeness crab while in the area, it is the best crab I've ever had.
