Ingredients
*all organic
1 Pizza Dough
Pesto - basil, olive oil, garlic
3 Red Onions
1/2 cup Blue Cheese Crumbles
1 jar sun dried tomatoes
1 head of garlic
Garlic Powder
Olive Oil
Directions
You can do one of three things for the pizza dough 1) make it yourself 2) purchase it from a local pizzeria, make sure to call ahead to ensure that they sell dough 3) buy it from the grocery store --- This time we choose option 3, but plan to make the rest of our pizza dough in the future
Chop onions & caramelize in a pan with olive oil or butter, set aside.
Press garlic cloves & set aside.
Keep the dough in the fridge until about 5 mins before you are ready to use. Prep your cooking surface (we have a clay stone, but a pan will work as well) with a dusting of flour. Work the dough into a flat circle by allowing the dough to rest on your fists & rotating them evenly across the dough as it hangs down...this takes some getting used to & practice so don't get discouraged, & if it's not perfect don't worry. Once the dough is stretched out to a circle about the size of your cooking medium place it down on that medium. Poke holes gently & evenly across the dough, expect on the crust area, to prevent bubbles from forming during cooking. Drizzle dough with olive oil & any desired spices -this is when we added garlic powder & fresh pressed garlic to the crust area - then place in the oven at 375 degrees until the crust turns golden. At this stage remove the crust from the oven & add remaining ingredients - to this one we added pesto, caramelized red onions, sun dried tomatoes, & blue cheese crumbles - then place it back in the oven just long enough so that the ingredients you added are heated & the cheese melts *blue cheese dose not melt the same way mozzarella would so it is fine the way it looks like the image above.
Slice & Enjoy!
