colorado - aspen

After exploring Hanging Lake we drove under an hour to Snowmass to the Airbnb we were staying at for the night. Jon & I have used Airbnb when we travel a handful of times now & it has never disappointed - we're big fans. We stayed at this condo & it was lovely. We were only 15 minutes from Aspen, the place was very clean, it had a fireplace, & the views were beautiful. After getting settled & refreshed we headed to Aspen for dinner. We were originally going to got to Pyramid Bistro, which looks amazing, but when we showed up we discovered that they were closed for the season...next time. So, we parked our car & decided to roam the streets of Aspen in search of another place to eat. We settled on Hops Culture Restaurant which had an awesome atmosphere, plus they focus on craft beers & have over 200 selections. The food was delicious & it was fun to browse the extensive beer list to try something new. After dinner we headed back to the condo, built a fire, & split a bottle of wine - it was lovely :) The next morning we woke up early & headed back to Aspen for breakfast at Spring Cafe which serves up 100% organic food & cold pressed juices - it was awesome. Next, we headed to Maroon Bells *post to follow. Upon returning to Aspen Jon had some work to do, so we set up at Peaches Corner Cafe. I got lunch & then walked around Aspen exploring shops while Jon worked. It was a beautiful day & Aspen in the autumn is so beautiful. Once Jon was finished working we stopped at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies saw a Golden Eagle & walked around a bit before beginning the drive back to Denver. I fell in love with the Aspen area & can't wait to go back!
