drink - turmeric & ginger elixir

A perfect morning boost, especially helpful when feeling under the weather.

*all organic - makes about 4 cups

2.5 cups coconut water
turmeric root - about the size of a bulb of garlic
ginger root - about the size of a bulb or garlic
1 lemon, peeled
2 green apples
1 celery stalk

One at a time place each ingredient into the juicer, we use this one here.
We strain our juice through a strainer like this, but you can leave it as is.
Pour into glasses, serve & enjoy!

homemade english muffins

A few months ago Jon & I purchased Tartine Bread because we wanted to be able to make our own bread products.  This book has not disappointed & it has been so fun (as well as challenging) to try new recipes. English muffins have been our most challenging undertaking so far, but the reward was well worth the effort - they were so delicious & like no English muffin we've ever had before! Tartine Bread comes from Chad Robertson who is considered by many the best bread baker in the US & also co-owner of Tartine Bakery in San Francisco. Learn more about the cookbook here & you can order a copy here. Some pictures below from our English muffin adventure...
