On Ava's second Birthday we drove up to Burlington, VT. We rented this cool AirBnb so we didn't have to make the drive twice in one day & could spend as much time in the area as possible. It was pet friendly which was key so Milo could come along.
After checking in & dropping off Milo we stopped at The Healthy Living Market & Cafe to grab a quick lunch. They had a lot of great prepared food & a sandwich bar in addition to healthy groceries. Then we headed to the Echo Lake Aquarium & Science Center in Burlington. There were a lot of great activities for children her age & Ava had so much fun!
Next, we went back to the rental, re-grouped & picked up Milo before heading back to Burlington. We parked by the water & walked around a bit before making our way to dinner at American Flatbread. We have been here before & it never disappoints! Their pizzas are amazing, super customizable & they use organic ingredients sourced from local farms.
After dinner we walked up & down Church Street & explored different stores. We discovered one new store in particular, Common Deer, that was so cool. They focus on made in America and small batch manufacturing & showcase goods from craftsmen & companies that are creating quality products - I wanted everything is the store!
Then we stopped at City Market, a great co-op that has tons of organic + local food, to pick up a dessert that we could put the #2 candle we had in & sing happy birthday to our little girl. We found a really cute chocolate cupcake & headed back down by the water to watch the sunset & sing to her - it was so special & probably my favorite moment of the day :) She has brought endless joy into our lives since her arrival & we feel so lucky we get to spend everyday with her & watch her grow. We love you so much Ava Grace & hope you had a wonderful second birthday <3
