Puerto Rico - Arecibo Observatory

We woke up this morning and the weather was overcast and calling for rain, so we decided to travel an hour and twenty minutes west to visit the Arecibo Observatory.

Visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour through 3,500 square feet of exhibits, You can also watch a 20 minute film in the auditorium about the history and work being done called "The Arecibo Observatory: Beyond the Big Dreams".  Afterwards, visitors receive a short talk from one of the tour guides and and a chance to visit to the observation deck to view the telescope surrounded by the jungle.

Open - Wednesdays to Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Admission - Adults $12.00, Children (5-12 years) and Seniors $8.00

On the way back to San Juan we stopped at Cueva del Indio along the coast. It was too windy and raining on and off to walk down to the water, but there was a pretty view.
